Minor problem with black tank. Rainy and cool day also didn't help getting ready to roll. Forgot to put up the notorious shower curtain rod and was lucky I was checking out a rattle in the area when the pantry door started to open! Curtain rod put in place quickly, but rattle not resolved. Rattle coming from same cabinet where pie makings are stored. (behind the slide, which is IN) Couldn't bake a pie for Easter, or now stop the rattle.
Leaving the campground on a right turn only road. As fate would have it, we needed to go left. Norm is very good at U-turns. Got some advise from a fellow camper as to where to turn and didn't even hold up traffic....much.
Hit Alabama at 10:10am, Mississippi at 12:00pm and Louisiana at 1:10PM. Another successful U-turn getting off I-10 in New Orleans. It tends to add a bit of excitement!
Saw this year's first dogwood tree at a rest stop. Spring is here!
Had a nice dinner with Shawn (Norm's Son). Shawn also is good at U-turns as we ended up going the wrong way on a looooong bridge. Fortunately, they have stopped taking tolls on the Crescent City Bridge since we had to go back over it. (Had to do it, Shawn..Sorry)
Second day in New Orleans we took the trolley downtown and visited the WW2 museum. Very interesting 4D movie and memorabilia. Also very sobering and amazing how lucky we are to have had to have so many brave men fight and sacrifice for us.
Nice dinner of Cajun food at Mulates and then a beer at Archie Mannings' sports bar with a mammoth TV screen. Shawn plans to go back there when college football starts again. Thanks again for a nice visit!
